Press Release 9/18/2019 – Streets Trust Fund Ward 2

Alamosa Streets Trust Fund
Ballot Issue Presentation Ward 2

A presentation explaining the Alamosa Streets Trust Fund ballot issue will take place at Living Water Bible Fellowship at 2910 Clark Street on Thursday, September 26 at 6 p.m. Citizens will be able to vote on the issue during the Tuesday, November 5 regular election. The public is invited to attend.

Heather Brooks, Alamosa City Manager, will give the presentation. Ward 2 Councilor David Broyles will share his thoughts about the proposed tax and hear resident comments. There will be a question and answer period directly after the presentation.

The issue came to light after 44% of Alamosa citizens told the City, through the Comprehensive Plan update, that the streets in Alamosa were bad or very bad. Only 29% of residents felt that the city was doing a good job of maintaining streets. Smoother roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes were all identified as top priorities.

Each of the four City Wards will have 6 p.m. presentations in their neighborhoods soon. Ward 1: October 14 at City Hall. Ward 3: October 1, location to be determined. Ward 4: October 9 at the Recreation Center.
