Press Release 6/5/2020 – Temporary First Street Closure

The City of Alamosa has contracted Gardner Excavating to conduct the 2020 First Street reconstruction project. Currently, work is being performed on sanitary sewer and storm lines.

The contractors will replace a main sewer line on First Street between West Avenue and Alamosa Avenue June 8-9. This will require a temporary closure of First Street on those days. Once the line is replaced the street will then be temporarily open for traffic until the next phase of the project.

Throughout the project alleyways will be closed and we request that residents do not park, walk, or drive in the construction area. This will help ensure your safety and the safety of working crews.

If you have questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (719) 589-6631.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
