Press Release 11/15/2019 – Road Rage Incident

On Monday, November 11, Alamosa Police officers (APD) were dispatched to 106 Blanca Avenue (San Luis Valley Health Emergency Room) in reference to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Responding officers discovered that the victim—identified as 24-year-old Alamosa resident Jonathan Richardson—was struck by a vehicle in the 200 block of Pike Avenue. APD officers were advised that this incident stemmed from a road rage incident where the suspect walked towards Richardson’s vehicle and poured an unknown chemical onto Richardson’s windshield and hood.  Richardson exited his vehicle to see what was poured on his vehicle, and as he stood in front of his vehicle, the suspect backed up striking Richardson with the vehicle, pinning Richardson between the suspect vehicle and his own.  After colliding with Richardson, the suspect then fled the scene. Richardson sustained serious bodily injuries to his lower extremities resulting in him being transported to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs via Flight For Life.

The suspect—identified as 41-year-old Alamosa resident Angela Holmes—was arrested today, November 15, 2019.  Holmes was charged with the following charges:

1-VEHICULAR ASSAULT (F5)

2-LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT ((F4)

3-FAILURE TO REPORT ACCIDENT OR RETURN TO THE SCENE (MT2)

4-RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT (M3)

5-COMPULSORY INSURANCE ( MT1)

6-ASSAULT IN THE FIRST DEGREE (F3)

7-CHILD ABUSE,RECKLESSLY, NO INJURY  (M2)

Holmes is being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond.
