Press Release 1/13/2020 – Homicide Investigation

On Monday, January 6, 2020 at approximately 7:52 p.m., Alamosa Police were dispatched to 321 Edison Avenue in Alamosa to conduct a welfare check.  Upon entering the residence, Alamosa Police Department (APD) officers discovered an unidentified deceased female. The death is being investigated as a homicide, and at this time, APD believes it to be an isolated incident with no active threat to the community.

APD is currently working with Taos County Sheriff’s Office to identify a body recovered from the Rio Grande Gorge, which may be related to the investigation at 321 Edison Avenue.

This case is in its preliminary stages and more information will be released as it becomes available and is verified.
