Press Release 11/07/2019 – Incident at Boyd Park
On Thursday, November 7 at 11:11 a.m., Alamosa Police Department (APD) received a call regarding a male party threatening people near Boyd Park.
When APD officers arrived, the male party—armed with a machete—approached officers while waving the weapon around. Officers on scene deployed a Taser to subdue him. The suspect was placed into custody and transported to the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. No other injuries were sustained during the incident.
The suspect will be charged with numerous counts of felony menacing and three counts of attempted 1st degree assault on a peace officer.
