Manager Nathan Cherpeski was appointed City Manager August 31, 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Cherpeski worked in the City Manager’s office and for the Finance Department in Redding California. He also worked in Utah, for the City of South Jordan, as he finished his graduate degree. Mr. Cherpeski holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University. The City of Alamosa, a charter city, operates under the Council-Manager form of government. Under this system, the Council establishes the policies under which the City operates and appoints a trained and experienced City Manager to administer the affairs of the City. The City Charter states the Manager’s duties as follows: The city manager shall be responsible
